Privacy Policy

The ACT Ombudsman is committed to the handling of personal information  in accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.

The ACT Ombudsman operates  within the office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman. It is subject to the Privacy Policy of that office which covers in detail our personal information handling practices. The Policy gives effect to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988.

We are working to improve our services to you and have engaged Customer Service Benchmarking Australia (CBSA) to survey people who have contacted the Office about our performance. Completion of the survey is voluntary and any information you provide will be kept secure and confidential and stored separately from our records concerning your complaint. We and the companies we use to undertake surveys are bound by confidentiality and privacy laws.
