The ACT Ombudsman acknowledges the traditional owners of the Canberra region, the Ngunnawal people. We acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region.
What we do
We help people sort out their problems with the ACT Government and ACT Policing. You can tell us anything that seems wrong or unfair. We don’t take sides and will listen to you and the agency.
We will listen to your story and tell you if we can help. If we can’t help you, we will help to find someone who can.

If we can help we may ask you and the government agency for information, to work out what happened. Then we can tell you what we can do about the problem.
If we can't help you, we will help you find someone who can.

- give you extra time to make your complaint
- connect you with one of our Indigenous staff members.
